Designs by ChrisKurt was built on the belief that outdoor spaces should feel as intentional as the homes and properties they surround.

Too often, landscaping falls into one of two categories, overdesigned but impractical, or maintained but never truly elevated. Designs by ChrisKurt was created to live in the space between those two. The goal is to design outdoor environments that are beautiful, functional, and built to perform long after installation day.

We focus on design-driven outdoor living, estate-level planting, and property presentation that enhances how a space looks, feels, and is experienced year-round. Every project is approached with the mindset that it should feel like it belongs to the property, not like it was added later.

What sets us apart is the combination of creative design and disciplined execution. We think through drainage, plant performance, lighting, seasonal transitions, and long-term maintenance from the start, not after problems appear. Clients get a partner who is thinking about the property five years from now, not just the reveal day.

We intentionally operate with small, highly skilled teams. This allows for tighter quality control, better communication, and a more personal client experience. We are selective about the projects we take on because the goal is long-term relationships, not transaction volume.

About the Founder

I’m Chris Oesterheld, founder of Designs by ChrisKurt. Before starting this company, I spent more than 15 years leading large scale operations in the nutraceutical industry, where planning, precision, and accountability were non-negotiable. That experience still shapes how we run projects today, structured, disciplined, and process driven.
​
At the same time, I’ve always been passionate about design, property presentation, and creating outdoor environments people genuinely enjoy being in. That perspective was shaped by years around high end club, hospitality, and golf environments, where details and overall experience matter.
​
Designs by ChrisKurt was built to bring those two worlds together, creative vision backed by real world execution.
We operate with small, highly skilled teams who care about details, communication, and long-term results. Much of our work is with private estates, club level properties, and clients who want outdoor spaces that feel intentional, perform properly, and evolve with the property over time.

I stay deeply involved in every project, from first concept through final execution and long after installation is complete. I don’t disappear once a design is approved. I stay engaged because details matter, and long-term performance matters.
Our focus is simple, thoughtful design, honest communication, and consistently high-level execution.

My philosophy is straightforward. If the design is right, the plan is solid, and the execution is disciplined, the results take care of themselves.
